More Morbid Fascination

We were once again driving on the highway that passes by the cemetery. Again, Kiki asks: "Mama, what are those rocks in the ground?"

Me: "Kiki, you know what they are. We put the rocks in the ground to remember the people we love who died."

 K: "Like grandpa in Montana?"

Me: "Right, like grandpa."

K: "And your mommy."

Me: "That's right."

Silent thinking. "Sometimes I like to pretend I'M your mommy!"

"What?!?" Goosebumps!

"Sometimes I like to pretend I'm your mommy."

"Why?"

"Because it's funny."

(Mwahahahaha!!!)

More Grave Conversations

Again, Kiki asks about what the stones in the ground are for, and again, I tell her it's to remember people that died.

This time, she said: "I think we should call it a stone house."

"That's a good name."

"But where are all the people? Nobody's visiting the stones."

"Yeah, I guess sometimes people forget."
